The old floor comes out first, properly
Removal and haul-out are part of the work. What is underneath gets looked at before anything new is laid over it.
The subfloor is prepared, not covered up
Flat, sound and dry. A plank floor telegraphs every dip and every soft spot underneath it within a year.
Trim and transitions are finished
Baseboards, quarter round, thresholds and door undercuts are part of a finished floor, and are included in the scope rather than left for someone else.
